President of the United States, Donald Trump, has revealed that his son, Barron Trump, is an admirer of Cristiano Ronaldo. This followed a brief meeting between Barron and Ronaldo before the football legend was honored by Trump at a White House dinner on Tuesday night.

Ronaldo, captain of Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr, attended the event with his fiancée, Georgina Rodriguez, as part of the delegation accompanying Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, during his visit to Washington, D.C.

Dressed in a black tuxedo, the 40-year-old football icon was seated among high-profile guests, including the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, and U.S. Vice President JD Vance. Trump acknowledged Ronaldo in his remarks during the dinner.

“This room is loaded up with the biggest leaders in the world – business, sports…” Trump said. “My son is a big fan of Ronaldo… Barron got to meet him and I think he respects his father a little bit more now – just the fact that I introduced you. So I just want to thank you both for being here.”

Ronaldo recently received a red card during Portugal’s FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Ireland, which led to his suspension for their subsequent victory over Armenia on Sunday. That win secured Portugal’s qualification for the 2026 World Cup, set to be hosted across the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
