Mother-of-Three Battles Lung Disease, Seeks Help

Before December 2023, 53-year-old Bolaji Adijat Bola, a mother of three children, was a happy woman, easy going and full of life, until lung cancer disrupted her daily life.

She was running a successful business as a Hair dresser in Ibadan, Oyo State. But all these were disrupted as she now battles to stay alive, since she was diagnosed of lung cancer.

Ever since, her family has been battling to save her life, a mission that has drained their investment, savings and family resources as she has to undergo chemotherapy weekly.

With each session costing a lot weekly, at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, in addition to other medications which according to the report from the Teaching Hospital costs over N100,000 monthly.

However, the son, Jibola Bolaji said, his mother needs about One Million, Five Hundred Thousand naira, (N1.5M) on medications and other hospital bills.

On her sick bed in Ibadan, Mrs Bolaji who could barely talk has resigned to fate, having exhausted all the money the family have and is now passionately appealing to Nigerians to come to her aid.

According to her son, the family has raised about Six hundred Thousand Naira, as they appeal to Nigerians to assist with the remaining funds.

“Your generous contributions can make a significant difference in my mother (Mrs Bolaji’s) journey towards recovery from lung cancer. Any amount will be greatly appreciated and will go directly towards covering her medical bills and other expenses”.

Jibola while narrating the hallowing experience the family has been facing since his mother’s medical ordeal started, said all efforts the family has made to raise funds to treat her lung cancer, have been unsuccessful, having spent huge sums on medical expenses.

According to him, the report from the hospital on Mrs Bolaji’s condition gave the current estimate of lung cancer treatment to be around 1.5 million naira.

Jibola, his siblings and relatives have resorted to prayers and appealing to well meaning Nigerians to come to their aid and help their mother stay alive.
