Mohammed Kudus: There’s more to come from me

Mohammed Kudus has assured despite his impressive debut season in the Premier League, there is more to come from him.

The West Ham United star enjoyed a very productive campaign in the English topflight after joining the Hammers from Ajax Amsterdam last year.

Kudus became the first player in Europe’s top five leagues to record a hundred take-ons in the just-ended season and was also involved in 14 goals and six assists for West Ham.

The 23-year-old also ended the season on a high when he netted a sensational overhead kick against Manchester City on the final day of the season.

Reacting to how his first season in England has panned out, Kudus said he is still far from where he wants to be and promised that there was more to come.

I’m still far off how I see myself performing in this league and doing my best. It’s good to get the first season on the run but I have a long way to go and there is more stuff coming ahead,” Kudus said.

As an attacker doing my best to get the team back in the game, we didn’t give up at 2-0. It gave the team the energy that we could be back in the game so yeah, glad that it went in.

“It’s just one of those times in the game where you follow your instincts and I know I have the qualities to do stuff like that because it’s not the first time so I just went for it and was glad it went in and gave the team the incentive to get back in the game.

Meanwhile, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has described Kudus as an exceptional footballer.

“Now I’m not thinking one second about next season… because it’s West Ham. Four players up front who can create something,” Guardiola said ahead of last Sunday’s Premier League clash.

“Kudus is an exceptional player. Bowen for many years and Antonio, when he’s fit, is unbelievable. Paqueta is a top-class player in that he can do many things. That’s why. All four from nothing they can do something unique and special. That is my only concern right now.”

Kudus will now turn his attention to the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, where Ghana are set to face Mali and the Central African Republic (CAR) in June.
