Millennial Cup 2026: Reggae Boyz, Cantonment All Stars set up final showdown

Reggae Boyz FC and Cantonment All Stars will contest the final of the Millennial Cup 2026 after recording victories in their respective semi-final matches at the TA Lagbaja Military Cantonment Sports Complex, Maryland, Ikeja.

Reggae Boyz booked their place in the final after edging SAHCO FC 4-2 on penalties following a goalless draw in regulation time, while Cantonment All Stars thrashed Liberty Stars FC 4-2 to secure the second final spot.

The encounter between Reggae Boyz and SAHCO was particularly competitive, with both sides renewing their rivalry after facing each other in last year’s final.

Despite their efforts, neither team could find the breakthrough during regulation time, forcing the contest into a penalty shootout, where Reggae Boyz held their nerve to progress.

Reacting after the match, SAHCO captain expressed disappointment with the outcome, insisting that his side did not deserve to lose.

“I don’t think the best team won. We were unlucky to get a goal ruled out,” he said.

However, Reggae Boyz head coach praised his players for overcoming a difficult opponent, while giving glory to God for the victory.

“We give glory to God. It wasn’t easy, especially since we played them in the final last year. But now we have won, and we can be thinking of taking the cup home,” he said.

In the second semi-final, Cantonment All Stars produced an impressive attacking display to defeat Liberty Stars FC 4-2 and book their place in the title decider.

Godwin King was the standout performer, scoring a hat-trick to inspire Cantonment All Stars to victory.

Speaking after the match, Godwin credited his teammates for providing him with the opportunity and support to achieve the feat.

He said the team gave him the chance and foundation to deliver the impressive performance against Liberty Stars.

The results have set up a final between Reggae Boyz FC and Cantonment All Stars, with both teams now one victory away from lifting the Millennial Cup 2026 trophy.

The final is scheduled for Sunday, November 1, at 2pm, while SAHCO FC and Liberty Stars FC will meet in the third-place match at 10am.
