Megan Thee Stallion has successfully secured a five-year restraining order against the incarcerated rapper Tory Lanez.

This order is set to expire on January 9, 2030.

Megan Thee Stallion alleges that Lanez, whose birth name is Daystar Peterson, has been persistently harassing her from prison while he serves a 10-year sentence for an incident involving gunfire directed at her feet.

A judge sanctioned the order on Thursday, acknowledging that Stallion had presented a “sustained burden of proof” sufficient to endorse the motion.

Stallion’s petition for a restraining order characterized Lanez as a “violent and dangerous criminal” exhibiting an “established pattern of behavior that underscores the necessity of this civil harassment restraining order.”

Prior to this submission,Megan Thee Stallion held a restraining order that was effective from 2020 to 2023.

Her application also alleged that Lanez has been utilizing third-party bloggers to disseminate defamatory statements about her during his incarceration.

Stallion testified via an emotional video call, saying, “I feel like maybe he’ll shoot me again, and maybe this time I won’t make it.”

Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison in December 2022. In her documentary, Megan Thee Stallion: Her Words, which released in late October, the singer shared, “I really thought that once he got sentenced and once he went off to jail, I was going be a new woman and I thought I was going to be great and I could just go be the Megan Thee Stallion I always wanted to be.

“No. I still, every day, have to deal with people mad at me because I said what happened to me.”
