Manchester United are expected to honour the late Sir Bobby Charlton ahead of their Tuesday night’s Champions League match at Old Trafford.

The world of football mourned the loss of Sir Bobby Charlton who passed away at the age of 86 last weekend.

Many Red Devils fans have been paying tributes to the late England legend and one of the club’s most celebrated figures.

talkSPORT reported that United Trinity statue outside the stadium has become a focal point for these tributes, as it is adorned with flowers and scarves left by supporters.

There is now a condolence book opened by an International Suite inside the stadium, allowing fans and visitors to express their sympathies.

Meanwhile, manager Erik ten Hag and members of the United squad have also offered their own messages at Carrington, the club’s training ground.

The club is in discussions with Sir Bobby Charlton’s family and UEFA to plan further commemorations for Tuesday night’s Champions League Group A match against Copenhagen.

It is expected that players will wear black armbands as a sign of respect, wreaths will also be laid on the Old Trafford pitch, and a minute’s silence observed before the game kicks off.
