A V8-sized lawsuit over 5.3-liter engines in GM trucks and SUVs is over. A judge has just approved a settlement that would end the class action over the alleged faulty engines in Chevrolet Silverados, GMC Sierras, and several other full-size vehicles. Owners will get a little more than $3,000 in the payout, while the lawyers will get the lion's share at $57 million. That's not as bad for owners as the settlement just approved for a smaller 5.3-liter lawsuit, though, where owners will take home just $700 each.
