Lookman still positive after Atletico Madrid’s home defeat to Real Betis

Ademola Lookman has urged Atletico Madrid to remain positive following their narrow defeat to Real Betis in LaLiga.

Diego Simeone’s side were beaten 1–0 at the Metropolitano Stadium on Sunday night, with Brazil international Antony scoring the decisive goal for Manuel Pellegrini’s men just before the half-hour mark.

Lookman, who made his LaLiga debut for Atletico Madrid in the contest, saw a goal ruled out for offside as the hosts pushed for an equaliser.

The loss marked Atletico Madrid’s first home defeat in the league this season.

Despite the setback, the 28-year-old described the occasion as a special one, having made his debut in front of the home supporters.

“Not the result we wanted, but we stay positive. Very special moment making my debut at the Metropolitano. Aupa Atleti,” Lookman wrote on X.
