Lookman included in Atalanta’s UCL squad despite summer exit links

Atalanta have named their official squad for this season’s UEFA Champions League, with Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman making the list despite heavy transfer speculation during the summer.

Inter Milan were close to signing the Super Eagles attacker and made a strong push but refused to meet Atalanta’s asking price, even after Lookman removed all references to the club from his social media and was reported to have downed tools.

The Nerazzurri were not alone in their pursuit, with Turkish clubs showing interest and Bayern Munich submitting a late but weak loan bid.

According to Football Italia, Atalanta have now included Lookman in their European squad as they look to repair relations with the forward.

The only notable omission from the squad is injured Dutch wing-back Mitchel Bakker.

Lookman is also expected to feature for Nigeria in this month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
