Barcelona recovered their three-point lead at the top of La Liga with a 3-0 win against Alaves, reacting promptly to Real Madrid’s victory over Villarreal.

Robert Lewandowski stole the show with a first-half hat-trick, bringing his season total to 12 goals.

The Polish striker opened the opener after just seven minutes, latching on Raphinha’s excellent cross.

Lewandowski extended his advantage 15 minutes later, assisted again by Raphinha, before scoring his hat-trick with a beautiful feed from Eric Garcia.

Barcelona’s overwhelming performance keeps them in a solid position heading into the upcoming El Clasico.
