Lauren Sánchez Says She’s ‘100 Percent’ Looking Forward to ‘Being Mrs. Bezos’

The former news anchor, 53, has been engaged to Jeff Bezos since May and revealed in a new Vogue profile that there are already a few details she’s hammered down about their marriage — including whether or not she’s going to take his name.

“Uh, yes, 100 percent. I am looking forward to being Mrs. Bezos,” Sánchez told the outlet before sharing some of the designers she has her eye on for potential wedding dresses.

She listed Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana and Valentino as among her favorite fashion houses, but insisted she hasn’t made any real decisions yet as far as a dress. “There’s so many incredible designers!” she said, adding, “Once I get a minute, I’ll slow down.”

There are a lot of to-dos on the wedding planning list overall, she shared. “We’re still thinking about the wedding [and] what it’s going to be. Is it going to be big? Is it going to be overseas? We don’t know yet. We’ve only been engaged five months!” Sánchez said.

Bezos, 59, also opened up to Vogue about his relationship with the former Good Day LA co-host, who he began dating in early 2019, shortly after both of their respective divorces.

“Lauren has amazing intuition, almost witchy powers in that regard,” he said of his fiancée. “She sees things that other people don’t see. She’s really very sensitive to other people and what they’re thinking.”

He shared that their romance has helped him develop more fulfilling relationships of his own, too.

“She has really helped me put more energy into my relationships,” Bezos told the outlet. “She’s always encouraging me: ‘Call your kids. Call your dad. Call your mom.’ And she’s also just a very good role model. She keeps in touch with people. I’ve never seen her put makeup on without calling somebody. Usually her sister.”

As for the wedding planning, the Amazon founder and former CEO laughed at the idea of his involvement. “Oh, God, no. Do I look that dumb?” he quipped.

In the wake of the pair’s engagement, a source close to the couple told PEOPLE that they were “really in love and happy which makes everyone who knows them happy.”

Sánchez’s friends were “thrilled Jeff finally popped the question,” and the source noted that the couple had “been talking about it for a long time.”

“All of her friends say this is her dream come true. She found the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with and they felt the time was right,” the source added. “He has all the money in the world and what was missing was someone to share it with and everybody on both sides is very happy.”

Around the time when Bezos and Sánchez were first spending time together in January 2019, they were both going through divorces.

Bezos was previously married to MacKenzie Scott — with whom he shares four kids — for 25 years. Sánchez, meanwhile, divorced her husband of 13 years, Patrick Whitesell, around the same time. She shares two kids with the Hollywood agent, and has one other child from a previous relationship with former NFL star Tony Gonzalez.
