During an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the actor shared how online trolls often target his wife with hurtful comments about her fertility.

Despite the negativity, Lateef Adedimeji expressed his admiration for his wife’s strength in handling the criticism. He also reflected on his early struggles in the Yoruba film industry, recalling a moment when a mentor doubted his talent and predicted his career would not last.

“My wife and I have received a lot of trolling. Recently, someone called her barren on social media. She would always show it to me and say she would be all right,” he said, adding that these hurtful comments have tested their resilience as a couple.

Despite the setbacks, Lateef persisted and is now one of Nollywood’s most acclaimed actors, with multiple awards to his credit.He recently received a Best Actor nomination at the 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) for his role in the movie Jagun Jagun.

Speaking about his journey, Lateef Adedimeji highlighted the critical role his wife played in his success.

“When I wanted to do my first big-screen project, Lisabi, I realized everyone I thought would stand by me was absent. But my wife was there, and she helped me stay confident,” he said.
