LASTMA warns motorists against parking on lay-bys

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has warned motorists against parking on lay-bys along the Dopemu and Oshodi areas of Lagos State.

This was disclosed in a document signed by the Zonal Commander, Akeem Adeoshun, and made available to PUNCH Metro by the Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Adebayo Taofiq, on Tuesday.

He noted that motorists should always park at designated bus stops.

The document partly reads, “Approved bus stops include Dopemu, Cement, Mongoro, Ajayi Farm, Ikeja, Airport, PWD, Shogunle, Ladipo and Bolade. No bus stop includes Pako, Dopemu under the bridge, in front of the tower, National, Olori, Alasia, and Arena.”


He added that motorists should take note of safety measures while driving, noting that overloading of passengers in a vehicle will not be tolerated.

“Don’t reverse on the highway, don’t drive on one way and BRT, no stopping, paying, picking and dropping at the illegal bus stop, use your seat belt while driving, always close obstruction on the road, always close your door, don’t drive on walkways, no overloading of passengers in a vehicle.

“Commuters are also advised to comply with The Lagos State Traffic Reform Law 2018 (as amended).”
