KTM India introduces a new TFT display variant of the KTM 160 Duke, boosting tech and connectivity for riders at ₹1.79 lakh.

KTM has quietly expanded the 160 Duke family in India with a new top-end variant that brings a significant tech upgrade to the popular streetfighter. Priced at ₹1.79 lakh (ex-showroom), this refreshed version adds a colour TFT instrument cluster that was previously reserved for bigger Dukes like the 390, giving the 160 Duke a sharper edge in the increasingly competitive 150-160cc segment.

Since its launch earlier this year as KTM’s entry-point street bike in India, the 160 Duke has impressed riders with its zesty performance and aggressive design. However, the standard model was equipped with a basic LCD dash that lagged behind rivals offering richer feature sets. With this update, KTM has now addressed one of the biggest feature gaps and brought class-leading tech to its smallest Duke.

The standout update on this new variant is the 5-inch colour TFT display, borrowed directly from the larger 390 Duke’s setup. This vivid screen not only enhances visibility and graphical clarity but also unlocks a range of smart features that were not available on the LCD variant. Paired with KTM’s Bluetooth connectivity and app support, riders can now access turn-by-turn navigation, control music, and handle incoming calls on the go — all through the dedicated 4-way switchgear mounted on the handlebar.

While the TFT unit significantly modernises the cockpit, the rest of the motorcycle’s mechanical package remains unchanged. The 160 Duke continues to be powered by its 164.2cc single-cylinder engine, known for a lively performance and strong mid-range punch that fits both urban commutes and spirited weekend rides. Braking duties, chassis setup and suspension components carry over from the existing model, ensuring that the improved display doesn’t alter the bike’s engaging ride character.

In terms of pricing, the TFT-equipped variant commands a modest premium of around ₹8,000 over the base model, which retains its LCD dash and standard feature list. KTM will continue to sell both versions side by side, giving buyers the flexibility to choose based on their feature preferences and budget.
