Kenny Omega made peace with Jack Perry, but didn’t make the PPV card

In storyline, Jack Perry was a part of The Elite when they sent Kenny Omega out of Dynamite in an ambulance last year. So when Perry returned, even though he was doing his old Jurassic Express act with Luchasaurus and had beef with his old Elite partners The Young Bucks — Omega didn’t trust the former Jungle Boy.

But they agreed to work together against The Bucks’ allies, and Kenny’s mortal enemies, the Don Callis Family. In that match on Oct. 15’s three-hour Dynamite and Collision broadcast, Perry earned the former World champ’s trust by saving him from a Mark Davis lariat before the finish. Omega repaid the favor by helping to save Jungle Jack from Matt & Nick Jackson after their win.

Seems they went their separate ways after that, however. Perry and Luchasaurus take on The Bucks with a half-million of Tony Khan’s kayfabe bucks on the line this Saturday (Oct. 18) at AEW’s WrestleDream PPV. But it looks like Omega will miss his second straight AEW monthly event after seeming to confirm an August report he’s been working through “very serious pain”.

With the health issues Omega’s had in recent years, and the wear and tear on his body from his career, we certainly don’t begrudge him as much time off as he needs. It’s just particularly noticeable with other big names like Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay already sidelined.

But hey, it’s not like there aren’t a few free Callis Family members TK can use to give Kenny a match in St. Louis if he wants one.

We’ll see what the WrestleDream card looks like come bell time. In the meantime, check out the rest of the highlights from the WrestleDream go home edition of Dynamite, and Collision, in the following playlist:
