Karauri Dares Edgar Obare to Release Alleged Compromising Video, Offers Ksh10 Million

Kasarani Member of Parliament Ronald Karauri has challenged blogger Edgar Obare to release any alleged incriminating material amid claims linking him to a relationship with another man.

In a video shared on February 11, Karauri denied claims that there is any compromising footage that exists, insisting that the allegations are baseless.

He accused the blogger of fabricating the story and hinted that the claims could be part of a political agenda or an attempt at extortion.

Karauri went further to publicly challenge Obare to publish the alleged video by 5 p.m., pledging Ksh10 million if the footage is produced.

He stated that should no video be released, Ksh8 million would be donated to his foundation to support children, while Ksh2 million would be allocated toward community initiatives and prize money related to an upcoming event in Kasarani.

“So, Edgar Obare, this fake story of yours, it’s totally fabricated and you know it. I don’t know what agenda you’re going to push. If it’s about extortion, money I have for you,” he said.

He maintained that he is not intimidated by the allegations and invited the blogger to present any evidence to the public.

Obare Puts Karauri on the Spot

Karauri became a trending topic earlier this week following an exposé by blogger Edgar Obare on Instagram. The post included screenshots from a man claiming to have been in a relationship with the Kasarani MP.

The alleged Karauri’s former partner, shared screenshots, private messages, and references to videos on Edgar Obare’s platform.

He expressed fears for his safety and accused the MP of issuing threats following their alleged breakup.

Additionally, he stated that his brother, who has returned to Kenya, was being closely monitored.

Who is Ronald Karauri?

Ronald Karauri Kamwiko is a Kenyan businessman and politician currently serving as the Member of Parliament for Kasarani Constituency in Nairobi County.

Before his political career, he was a pilot with Kenya Airways and the Chief Executive Officer of SportPesa.

He is also the son of the late Mathews Adams Karauri, a former Member of Parliament for Tigania Constituency.

In 2003, he joined Kenya Airways as a First Officer, flying regional and international routes while gaining experience in flight operations and safety procedures.

He was promoted to Captain, a role he held until 2015, commanding wide-body aircraft and participating in senior flight operations.

Karauri transitioned into the corporate sector in 2016 by co-founding SportPesa under Pevans East Africa, where he served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) until 2022.

Under his leadership, SportPesa expanded into multiple countries, became a leading sports betting company in Kenya, and sponsored key sports teams and tournaments.

In February 2022, Ronald Kamwiko Karauri declared his candidacy for the Kasarani parliamentary seat as an Independent.

His campaign focused on youth empowerment, sports development, business-friendly policies, and infrastructure improvement.

He won the August 9, 2022, General Election, officially declared on August 11, 2022, becoming the first Independent MP elected in Nairobi County in the 13th Parliament.
