Jonathan Has Occupied The Position You Have Been Running After For 30 Years – Abati Replies Atiku

Veteran journalist and former presidential media aide, Reuben Abati, has berated former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over his recent comments targeting former President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to Abati, who spoke on Friday during a programme on Arise News, it is rude and unfair of Atiku to describe Jonathan as inexperienced.

Naija News recalls that Atiku, during a TV interview on Wednesday, described former President Goodluck Jonathan as a decent but inexperienced man.

According to Atiku, the inexperience contributed greatly to Jonathan’s failure in office and his eventual defeat at the polls during the 2015 presidential election.

In his words, “I know Goodluck Jonathan very well, he is a decent young man but also inexperienced, which contributed to his failure to manage the affairs of the country.”

He made the submission while advocating for experienced and capable leadership at the helm of affairs in Nigeria, and why people like him should be elected into office.

Reacting to Atiku’s statement, Abati mocked the former Vice President, stating that Jonathan has occupied the presidency, a position Atiku has been eying unsuccessfully for thirty years.

“I think it’s condescending and very rude. Jonathan was president of this country, a position that Atiku didn’t even get to. He is still aspiring to get there 30 years after his initial aspiration. And to refer to a former president as a man who is not expereinced smirks of arrogance.

“Whatever happens in the 2027 elections, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is still aspiring to become what former President Jonathan has already achieved and even more after he had been in that position,” Abati submitted.
