Iran calls for fast trials of protesters despite Trump’s warning

Iran's judiciary chief on Wednesday called for fast-track trials for detained protesters, despite US President Donald Trump's threat of "very strong action" if the Islamic republic goes ahead with executions. It came as the verified death toll of people killed in a crackdown on protesters passed the 2,000 mark, according to rights groups based outside Iran.
