I’m under attack, some persons plotting to unseat me – NNPC boss

The Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, has disclosed that he and other management staff are facing threats from some individuals.

Ojulari said his offence is the reforms he has introduced in the oil and gas sector.

The oil boss, speaking on Thursday, said these measures are part of a mandate from President Bola Tinubu to revive the nation’s struggling refineries.

He expressed concern that powerful forces are attempting to remove him from his position.

Ojulari made these remarks while receiving a delegation from the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), led by President Festus Osifo, at NNPCL’s headquarters in Abuja.

He stated that efforts are underway to restore the refineries to full operation and that the management is exploring the use of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) model as a blueprint for revival.

He acknowledged the dangers to himself and other staff but reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the refineries function effectively.

Ojulari said he is focused on implementing development plans rather than engaging in politics, although he is open to learning more about it.

He said: “I’m not hiding to anybody. I’m not a politician. I will have to learn a bit more about politics, but it’s a development plan for me, right? And I’m ready to learn.”
