I’m focused on helping the team win – Lookman speaks after Atalanta’s win

Ademola Lookman says he has fully shifted his focus back to Atalanta after a turbulent summer in which he tried unsuccessfully to force a move to Inter Milan.

The forward delivered a goal and an assist in Atalanta’s 3–0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday night, continuing his strong start to the season. The 28-year-old has rebuilt his connection with teammates and supporters following months of uncertainty surrounding his future.

Speaking after the match, Lookman emphasised that he has put the transfer episode behind him.

“You know, what’s happened has happened. A lot’s gone on. Some things people know, others they don’t,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“Right now is the time to work hard for the team and we need to win games, that’s the most important thing, to get stronger every day. That is what I am concentrated on and so is the team, working together every day to get results.”

Lookman also spoke about his relationship with new Atalanta head coach Raffaele Palladino.

“The Mister has a very clear idea of attacking and entertaining football, which you can see in the goals that we scored. Obviously, the DNA of pressing and hard work is in the team anyway, and we have to keep that going,” he added.
