“I’m 39 looking for a husband, not underage boys”

A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to express her frustration over the kind of messages she receives while searching for a life partner.

In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @teeniiola, she revealed that at 39, she is ready for marriage and desires a respectful, mature man—but her DMs tell a completely different story.

According to her, most of the messages she receives come from underage boys, leaving her feeling disrespected and disappointed.

In her words, she said:

“Please, I’m 39 and looking for a husband, but all I’m getting in my DMs are underage children texting me for a relationship. It feels like a disrespect to me.”

She also shared that none of her family members are married yet, but she remains firm in her decision not to lower her standards.

The lady stressed that she cannot accept someone too young or immature, regardless of societal pressure to settle.

Her message has resonated with many women who face similar challenges in finding suitable partners later in life.

Social media users have since sympathized with her situation.
