If I Had Gone To Etche, The Chairman Would Run Away As Soon As He Knew I Was Coming” – Sim Fubara

Governor Sim Fubara has explained why he delayed holding town hall meetings.

Speaking in a video shared by Channels TV, Fubara said if he had held a town hall meeting earlier and visited Etche LGA, the former chairman, Obinna Anyanwu, would have run away from him. However, he said with the new caretaker chairman of Etche, John Otamiri Nkugbo, things have changed. He said Nkugbo is eager to meet and cooperate with him.

Fubara disclosed that he recently visited Etche to inspect a project and before he even arrived, Nkugbo was already there, ready to show his support and commitment. He concluded by saying that his approach of patience and strategic planning has paid off.

In Fubara’s words: “Assuming I go to Etche, the Chairman (Obinna Anyanwu) would run away as soon as he knew I was coming. But now if I am going to Etche I don’t even need to inform Nkugbo, as soon as he hears he will be running down there. So who is the winner now? The other day I went to check the project we were doing there, before I got to the place the action caretaker chairman was there. If it were before, as soon as they hear I am coming self they will mobilize people to run away. So you can see what good planning and patience can give to you.
