I Will Unseat Akpabio in 2027 – In-law Declares

Dr. Patience Akpabio, an in-law to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has declared her intention to run for the Akwa Ibom North West Senate seat in 2027.

Her declaration came in a post on Facebook where she boldly introduced herself as the “incoming distinguished Senator, Akwa Ibom North West, come 2027 whether they like it or yes.”

She also claimed she was already “duly elected” ahead of the polls.

Pat Akpabio is the wife of notable Nigerian politician Ibanga Akpabio, which is an in-law to the senate president. She is also known for her background as an evangelist.

The Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District is a stronghold of the Akpabio family.

Recall that Mr. Akpabio lost the senate seat in the 2019 election to Dr Chris Ekpenyong before reclaiming it in 2023.
