Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has slammed President William Ruto’s UDA, claiming that the party has committed an electoral offence amid the Mbeere North by-election.
While taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, 23rd, Kuria called out the ruling party for placing their candidate’s poster over those of the Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) party candidate, Duncan Mbui.

As such, Moses Kuria, who is the leader of CCK, stated that UDA had committed an electoral offence and that he would pray for them for their actions.
“Dear UDA, this is laughable. It is an electoral offence to put your Mbeere North candidate’s posters over the CCK candidate’s posters. I will pray for you,” Kuria said.
As the campaigns gather pace, the Mbeere North by-election, scheduled for November 27, 2025, is expected to be a highly contested race as candidates from across the political divide have expressed interest in the seat.
For instance, President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has settled on Leo Muriuki as its candidate. He will face stiff competition from Newton Karish of the Democratic Party (DP) and Duncan Mbui of Moses Kuria’s CCK party.
On the other hand, retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s party, Jubilee won’t field a candidate but back the opposition candidate.
