Ghanaian Highlife artiste Kofi Nti has pledged to preserve the legacy of music icon Daddy Lumba by performing three of his songs in every show. This commitment is to show the deceased’s significant impact on his career.

Speaking with Graphic Showbiz at the ongoing one-week observance of  Daddy  Lumba at the Independence Square in Accra on Saturday, August 30, the Rakia hitmaker said his music has undoubtedly been influenced by Lumba and he will always honour his memory.

” Everybody knows Daddy Lumba inspired my music career. His style, how he sings, encouraged me a lot.
” I intend to keep his legacy by performing his three songs anytime I mount the stage,” he said.

This initiative, he said, is expected to help keep Daddy Lumba’s legacy alive and ensure that his music continues to be celebrated for years to come.
The official activities of Lumba’s one-week observance started at about 10:15 when Prophet Amoako Atta of Parliament Chapel prayed for the presence of God for a smooth programme.
At the time of filing this report, Lumba’s first wife. Akosua Serwaa had arrived at the grounds.
She was ushered with a traditional song, commiserating with her.
The second wife, Odo broni came after her.
Daddy Lumba died at the Bank Hospital in Accra at dawn on Saturday, July 26.  He was 60 years old.
