I Think My Girlfriend is hiding National Secrets on Her Phone and It’s Driving Me Crazy

I started dating her in June of 2025. We met online, right after I moved to her state. With no friends and the quiet depression that can come with a fresh start, I turned online to find a connection. That is where I met her.

We talked for a long time before finally meeting in person. When we did, she opened up even more. I already knew bits and pieces about her life. I knew she was a baby mama to a man who was completely unreliable.

One day he is a present father, loving his daughter and taking responsibility. The next, he vanishes into thin air. Maybe it was seeing her that made my feelings real, or just all the time we had spent talking. But I knew I liked her. I pursued her, and she said yes.

I am the kind of partner who usually has a habit of checking phones. I have heard too many stories. But with her, I did not even think about it at first. She was so good to me, so open, that it felt wrong to doubt. She knows my phone password, but I never asked for hers.

The problem is, she is secretive with her phone. It is as if she is hiding the country’s national secrets on it.

When she needs to open it and I am nearby, she either walks away, hides the screen, or acts like she wants to crawl under the bed just to type in her password. Sometimes it is a funny sight. Sometimes it is troubling.

Her place is just a stone’s throw from mine, so she is always at my place or I am at hers. If not, she is at work. I find it hard to believe she is cheating. But then why the secrecy?

She has told me everything about her past. She is not on good terms with her baby’s father. I think she is a good girl, unless she is just a very good actress. So what is she hiding? It drives me nuts.

We had an issue one night, and I asked her to please just open her phone for me. To see is to believe the truth. She refused. The next day, she changed her password. I know that very well.

I hate this feeling. Apart from the phone secrecy, everything else checks out for me. She ticks all the other boxes. I have my own plans to figure out her password, but till then for now, I have to just stay calm.
