I Never Forced My Daughter to Marry an Older Man — Rita Daniels Opens Up About Regina Marriage to Ned Nwoko

Nollywood actress and film producer Rita Daniels, mother of popular actress Regina Daniels, has finally addressed long-standing rumors that she forced her daughter to marry billionaire businessman Ned Nwoko.

In a recent interview with BBC, Rita Daniels clarified that Regina’s marriage was her personal decision and that she only offered motherly advice.

She said “When regina got married, and the world blamed me saying I was the one who forced her to get married to an older man, said i carried her and sold her to an elderly man.

“Erm what they didn’t know is that even i didnt know when they started their relationship with everything that was going on, I was the last person to know they were in a relationship and as for my daughter, I called her and asked what is going on….. What she answered me she said…… Have i ever introduced you to the person I want to get married to asides Ned Nwoko

“My daughter that never used to throw back words at me started throwing back words… I noticed she was begnning to get stubborn about it and then I am like what is going on? as at then, her husband wasn’t even into politics

“Immediately after the election, then was when her husband now told me he is interested in marrying my daughter I was weak but what was i to do ……. I stood with my daughter was i to chase her away so when i saw everything I advised the much i could as a mother that they are talking all sorts of trash about Regina The most important thing is that she is happy where she is and I Haven’t had the energy to advise anyone against anything

“Nodbody will be dragged this way and the person would be in a good headspace anybody like me would be ready to eat sh*t or do anything for their child, If they put their fingers in my eyes, I take it in good faith now that what they allege is true however many people would start expalining to you that this isn’t what it is …….. Do i leave them to heap blames on my daughter? so it is better for me that they heap the blame on me tear me apart and call me all sorts of names, I will rather take it what matters to me is that my family is in peace”
