I Lost My Girlfriend Because Of Her Nosey Friend

I can’t believe my beautiful relationship with Ama ended because of a simple misunderstanding. I blame it all on my ex-girlfriend, Lydia. Or better still, Ama’s bestfriend, Doris. I suppose the two ladies are responsible for the untimely end of my love story. This is what happened.

A few days ago, I was chatting with Ama, when she told me that my ex and her friend were talking in a group chat. How they got to know each other, I have no idea. Regardless, I asked my girlfriend, “What are they talking about?”

From the screenshots she sent me, Doris had asked Lydia questions about her past with me. She asked Lydia if I ever cheated on her. My ex was honest. She told Doris I had eyes for no one else but her, and admitted that she was the one who cheated on me. It would have been fine if she ended there but she didn’t. She added some information that were lies.

 I tried to explain my side of the story but my girlfriend wouldn’t listen. She chose to believe my ex over me. To clear the air, I told her, “Add me to your group chat or create another group chat so that I will address the issue in Lydia’s presence.”

The group was created but at the time I was ready to confront Lydia, my girlfriend and her friend were not online. It was just me and my ex. I didn’t want to start talking to her in their absence so I chose to wait. I didn’t hear from them until I dozed off.

When I woke up, I decided to step out and buy some food. Just at that time, Ama came online and texted me. I told her to wait because I was on my way out and couldn’t text while walking.

Unfortunately, on my way, I was pickpocketed and my phone got stolen. Because of that, I couldn’t reach Ama when I got home.

It took two days before I was able to borrow my cousin’s phone and texted her to explain what had happened. Instead of understanding my situation, Ama accused me of disappearing with Lydia and claimed I had gone back to her.

To make matters worse, Doris asked Lydia directly if we were secretly dating again, but Lydia chose to ignore them. I don’t know why she didn’t just say No. Her silence made both Ama and Doris conclude that Lydia and I are secretly back together.

Based on this, Ama has broken up with me. I’ve tried to explain countless times that I never went back to Lydia. I even asked Ama to show me proof of her accusations, but she has none. Instead, she insists I’m hiding things from her.

I feel unheard, unfairly judged, and hurt that Ama has ended our relationship based on false assumptions. How do I get my girl back? I really don’t want to lose her over something that isn’t true. If only her mosey friend didn’t go talking to my ex, none of this would have happened.
