Hunger Is Not Peculiar To Nigeria Alone. My Daughter’s Rent In Dubai Has Also Increased -Ene Ogbole

Amid nationwide protests across several states in the country, Nigerians are demanding changes in the current administration, especially regarding issues of hunger and high commodity prices. As expected, alongside those protesting, there are also those supporting the government. Ene Ogbole, Manager of the Defunct Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, gave her reasons why Nigerians should be patient with Tinubu during her interview with Arise TV.

She explained that hunger and inflation are not unique to Nigeria but are global issues, illustrating with an example from her daughter’s schooling in Dubai. She stated:

“This government as it were, has been able to achieve a lot in just one year but beyond what also has been achieved, the government has also just spent one year in office. They came and met a very terrible situation on ground which is very peculiar to Nigeria and you would also agree with me that, the whole world is in turmoil. Economy recessions are translating into very poor investment in all the sectors across the globe occasioned by post-covid crisis which is yet to abate”.

“Hunger is not peculiar to Nigeria, hunger is everywhere in the food, inflation is not peculiar to Nigeria, but also around the world. I have a daughter in the University of Dubai, she got into the university three years ago now by the time she got there, I was paying 2500 Dirhams for her accommodation but within the space of just three years, as we speak today, I am almost paying 7000 Dirhams for the same hostel”….Seē _ Morē
