HP has announced its latest productivity-focused display — the HP Series 5 Pro 49-inch Conferencing Monitor, a jumbo ultrawide monitor built for office use and hybrid work setups. With its expansive 32:9 curved VA IPS panel and a resolution of 5120 x 1440, the monitor effectively combines two 27-inch displays into a single seamless screen.

Unlike rival models from Samsung, Dell, Lenovo, and LG, HP’s new ultrawide stands out with a hidden 5-megapixel webcam with Windows Hello support that extends from the top of the monitor when pushed to unlock. This makes it ideal for professionals who value privacy and security during video calls.

Designed for Productivity and Hybrid Work

The Series 5 Pro comes with features tailored for productivity. At a preview event, HP demonstrated its virtual multi-display software, allowing the 49-inch screen to act as two or even three separate monitors. This setup benefits users who want the flexibility of a multi-monitor workflow without the hassle of managing multiple screens.

The 1800R curvature enhances comfort and immersion, while the 165Hz refresh rate ensures smooth visuals for day-to-day tasks. HP claims the panel covers 99% of the sRGB color space, making it suitable for general office and creative tasks, though its 5ms response time and 8-bit color depth mean it’s less suited for gaming or highly color-sensitive content creation.

Connectivity and Features

The HP Series 5 Pro is equipped with modern connectivity options, including:

  • HDMI 2.1
  • DisplayPort 1.4
  • Ethernet port
  • Multiple USB ports with KVM functionality

The integrated KVM switch allows users to control multiple PCs with a single keyboard and mouse, a valuable feature for professionals juggling multiple systems.

Price and Availability

HP says the official pricing will be revealed closer to the monitor’s November 2025 launch. Given its size and features, it is expected to compete directly with premium ultrawide monitors from leading brands in the same category.
