How Wike-Backed Lawmakers Celebrated Defection To APC (PHOTOS)

Not less than 27 lawmakers of the Rivers State House of Assembly dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

The lawmakers are the ones loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike. They were led to join the APC by factional Speaker of the Rivers House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule.

From the pictures that emerged showing the defectors, their happy mood was captured clearly as they switched camp to the party in power.

Recall that Wike and Governor Sim Fubara have been having political crisis over some issues that have defied any solution. Both leaders have not called off the clash between their allies especially the struggle for the control of Rivers House of Assembly leadership.

The defection of Wike’s loyalists to APC may mark another turning point in the oil-rich State with reports suggesting that Wike may be joining the ruling party any moment soon following the defection of his loyalists.
