Here's a fun question for today – what are you doing to “prepare” your office for winter, either by decorating it with cozier items, or preparing for lack of humidity and other challenges? (Are you going to decorate with a nod towards any holiday, such as Halloween or Christmas?) If you work from home, what are you doing?

For my $.02, I like the idea of swapping out seasonal pillows and accents, but I never quite manage to make it happen in practice. I absolutely do try to make sure my humidifier is cleaned and ready to go (new filter, etc) for winter. I also tend to really like lamplight versus overhead lights, and I use a lot of “smart” bulbs to accomplish that seamlessly — so as it starts to get darker earlier I try to make sure that the schedules are all good and ready to go.

I've always been a fan of keeping a lot of clothes in the office — now is a great time to bring in sweaters and pashminas, as well as anything you might want for bad weather such as old sneakers, a spare umbrella, etc.

(If you like warm drinks like tea or cocoa, now is also a great time to check your stash from last year and bring in more!)

Readers, what are you doing to make your offices cozier or otherwise prepare your office for winter?
