No matter the kind of business you are into, you do not get noticed or make money unless you have paying customers. People favour dealing with proven and reliable businesses, and real estate doesn’t seem to be an exception. You need clients, you need prospects or leads.

How do you get leads and turn them into customers? How can you make your own small real estate business stand out from the crowd?

1. BE PERSONAL.

Work with people one on one. Working one on one means you take every customer, each one in turn. Your outlook ought not be cash but rather connections. I can’t stress that enough. Let your customers see you as a friend they can always come to you for help with their real estate needs.

2. USE LATEST TECHNOLOGY.

Getting leads is about showing your prospects what you can do. Show that you offer more value than your competitors. How do you do this? Take advantage of the latest technologies. Use latest technology to advertise and make your listings appear attractive. Don’t be afraid to test the waters, your clients would love you for it.

3. HAVE A UNIQUE SELLING PROPOSITION (USP).

What makes you unique? What do you offer that others do not? That’s your Unique Selling Proposition. Your USP is what sets you apart. You need a value proposition, something that says “here’s why you should do business with me instead of my competitors”.

Most real estate professionals more often than not say things like, ‘I work hard for my clients’. Try again! It will take more than that to convince me. To stand out, you should have a convincing strategic offer. An ‘incentivized’ offer that states who you serve, how you can help them and why they should use you over others.

4. OFFER VALUABLE INFORMATION.

Be a storehouse of knowledge. Your clients should be able to come to you for any information that they need. If you can show your customers that you’re a knowledgeable real estate professional, they’ll trust you and would probably work with you again or send somebody your way.

5. HAVE A PROBLEM SOLVER MINDSET.

Real estate is about solving people’s housing problems. You are solving people’s problems one at a time. The mentality should be a problem solver’s. Standing out in your real estate business and getting a constant supply of new customers is all about building relationships. Zig Ziglar says “you can have everything in life you want if you’re going to help other people get what they want“.

Your success or disappointment relies upon the number of problems you can solve. You need to keep learning and re-learning. The more satisfaction you create, the more customers you’ll get and soon you’ll build a standout real estate business.
