In 2017, Samuel Abisai’s life changed after he won the Sh221 million SportPesa Mega Jackpot. With many expecting his life to be filled with goodies, he also faced challenges even after pocketing that hefty amount.

From relatives to friends and even strangers seeking a taste of his money, the multi-million jackpot winner has seen it all.

Aside from that, Abisai took a step forward to invest part of the Sh221 million, which has earned him income since then.

Times Digital Kenya takes a look at how Samuel Abisai invested his money and the challenges he faced throughout the years.

Investments

Soon after he had won the Sh221 million, Abisai started to receive advice from all corners, but that did not stop him from following his heart and what would secure his financial future.

Samuel Abisai took part of the money and invested in various sectors, including farming, a paint business, and fashion, which was a passion he had developed while in university.

In fashion, he combined his passion, creativity, and the business side, which became one of his key sources of income. On the other hand, in agriculture he focused on pig farming and the paint business, with more focus on car painting.

Challenges

Although he had expected that the Sh221 million was a lot of money, during a previous interview Samuel Abisai said he discovered that it was not as much as he had initially thought.

Be that after the the reality, shapes how managed the funds and more calculated decisions when it comes to investments.

“After winning the cash, I discovered that the Sh221 million was not as much money as I had thought,” Abisai said in a previous interview.

Apart from that, the Sh221 million jackpot winner also had issues with his family, which comprises 11 siblings. He said the money caused a rift between them, but they eventually resolved their differences.

“There were issues, but now the family is stable, and the animosity is mostly external,” he confessed.

Future

Samuel Abisai dreams bigger than just being a businessman. He is now seeking a new challenge in life by venturing into the political arena.

Just a few years ago, he said he intends to vie for a parliamentary seat in Lugari in the next General Election in 2027.
