Wale Ajani Accuses Oriyomi Hamzat of Betrayal, Alleges He Negotiated His Senatorial Ticket Behind His Back

Former Oyo Liaison Office DG Claims He Supported Hamzat’s Governorship Ambition Only to Discover Alleged Plot to Give His Oyo Central Senatorial Ticket to Another Person
Former Director-General of the Oyo State Liaison Office, Wale Ajani, has accused popular broadcaster and politician, Oriyomi Hamzat, of betraying him despite his alleged financial and political support towards Hamzat’s governorship ambition.

Ajani, while speaking about the circumstances surrounding their reported fallout, alleged that he was working tirelessly to ensure Hamzat secured a governorship ticket, only to discover that the broadcaster was allegedly negotiating his own senatorial ticket for Oyo Central with another individual behind his back.

According to Ajani, the alleged betrayal came as a surprise because he believed his support for Hamzat would be reciprocated with loyalty and mutual understanding.

He claimed that while he was committed to helping Hamzat achieve his political ambition, the broadcaster was allegedly making arrangements that could undermine his own senatorial aspiration.

Ajani further alleged that Hamzat doubted his willingness to provide the financial resources required to prosecute the governorship campaign and consequently sought to negotiate the Oyo Central senatorial ticket for someone he believed had more money.

The former government official maintained that he was capable of providing the necessary support but felt betrayed by what he described as Hamzat’s alleged lack of loyalty.

Expressing his displeasure, Ajani dismissed the notion that Hamzat was his political leader, insisting that he was more experienced and exposed in several areas, although he acknowledged the broadcaster’s strength in radio broadcasting.

“Oriyomi is not in any way my mate. I am far beyond him in every area except in the area of radio. But, of course, I am a journalist, and I read. I am more exposed than him. He is never my leader,” Ajani declared.

He explained that his decision to withdraw from the relationship followed his discovery of what he described as Hamzat’s cunning attitude, adding that he chose to walk away and concentrate on his other profitable business ventures.

“Immediately I discovered his cunning attitude, I opted out and faced every other profitable business of mine,” he stated.

Ajani’s allegations have brought attention to the reported breakdown of the relationship between the two political figures, with the former Oyo Liaison Office DG portraying himself as a supporter who was allegedly betrayed while working to advance Hamzat’s political ambition.

Hamzat’s response to the allegations was not available at the time of filing this report.
