How A Roadside Fruits Seller Caused Me To Buy More Than I Budgeted In Bayelsa — Didi-Omah

Executive. Let me tell you one real story that happens to me in Bayelsa early months of 2025 — stay with me and learn something. I went to Bayelsa few months after my graduation in 2024, that is returning in 2025 to Bayelsa State. I don't have a house in Bayelsa, I stayed at Onwe Friday and Kingsley Jackson's apartment — they accommodated me freely. Everyday I do follow Kingsley Jackson to his workplace, every morning.

He smiled and started attacking me about money and buying — are you the one buying, it is my money — and so about. Now, Turning to the lady, she was laughing, she moved with a style; here is the deal, take this banana for NGN500 and share with his groundnut — she was talking to me. I told her to leave it, she insisted, smiling and change conversation to about myself; I flowed with her in the conversation. Before you know it, I bought a bunch of bananas from her.

Boom! Just her smile, friendliness and openness — I have bought a bunch of bananas and groundnut. You know I am still a child, funny enough me and Kingsley started dragging the bananas at the roadside, no shame. “It is because she is friendly and beautiful, you bought these bananas, are you hungry?”, Kingsley asked me. Before I could answer finished, she asked for banana too. How possible? We bought a bunch of bananas from you and groundnuts, we paid you, and you are asking us to share with you so you will eat too.

Honestly, we shared with her. It was more than just a purchase, it was friendship at a stance. If I was seeking for a wife, I would have married her — who knows, you never can tell. Now why? She is open, bold, humble, free, truthful, and she being herself. Not forming to get a purchase. How do you know she is not forming? You asked right, my lovely mum is a matron and senior nurse at UPTH, and every qualified nurse is a psychologist. I studied a lot on people's behaviour and psychology. 

So I know when someone is putting on a fake clothing to win something. But I also act as if I don't know anything. Sometime I can act as someone that is not educated or a child, to see your reaction. Back to the talk. Executive. We left home late that night, and on our way home, we were discussing; I told Kingsley, “that lady is a marketer and she is good at marketing” — unknowingly to me, that is who she is. Until Kingsley Jackson openned up during the conversation, and told me that “she is into digital marketing”.
