A simple fact that not every American truck buyer wants to hear is that most people do not need half-ton or larger trucks. Obviously, there are plenty of applications where light-duty or even large trucks are necessary to get the job done, but the average commuter can get away with a smaller model. That's where the Honda Ridgeline and Toyota Tacoma fit in. These two midsize pickups are capable of some towing and hauling, and the Tacoma in particular has some great off-road trims and aftermarket support.
