HFC Limited Appoints Veteran Banker Gerald Gachoki Warui as New Director

The Board of Directors of HFC Limited, a subsidiary of HF Group Plc, has announced the appointment of Gerald Gachoki Warui as its new Independent Non-Executive Director.

In a public notice dated February 10, the Group’s Company Secretary, Regina Anyika, confirmed Gerald Gachoki Warui for the role, effective immediately.

“HFC LIMITED (The Company) The Board of Directors of HFC Limited (the Company), a subsidiary of HF Group Plc, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Gerald Gachoki Warui as an Independent Non–Executive Director of the Company, effective 10th February 2026,” the HFC notice read in part.

In the announcement, HFC described Gerald Gachoki Warui as a seasoned, results-oriented banking executive and highlighted his strong background in financial management as a key attribute. 

The listed integrated financial services provider also cited Warui’s 30 years of banking experience, including a strong background in corporate banking, credit risk management, and operational efficiency, as another key factor in the appointment.

“He has held various senior positions in leading banks in Kenya, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic oversight, and business transformation skills. He brings over 30 years of progressive experience in corporate banking, credit risk management, and operational efficiency,” the notice read.

Gerald Gachoki Warui Profile

Gerald Gachoka previously served as Managing Director of Equity Bank Kenya until August 2024.

He also held key executive roles at Equity Group Holdings Plc, including MD & Director at Equity Bank Kenya Ltd from 1998–2024, overseeing operations of Kenya’s largest bank by assets.

Other positions previously held by Warui include General Manager – Customer Service, where he leveraged his CPA(K) certification for financial strategy and expansion.

Gerald Gachoka Warui holds an Executive Master’s degree in Business Administration (EMBA) from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), and is a Graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Strathmore Business School, Spain, and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA–K).
