Hertz Is Now An Online Used Car Dealer Too
  • Hertz is now selling used vehicles entirely online.
  • They come with a warranty and buy-back guarantee.
  • Customers can get everything from an Escape to a G-Class.

Hertz is doubling down on used car sales following a high-profile partnership with Amazon. As part of their latest move, they’re offering a “fully online car-buying experience.”

Designed to make the car buying process even easier, shoppers can visit HertzCarSales and “browse thousands of well-maintained used vehicles for every budget.” While that’s to be expected, visitors can get pre-qualified to view personalized payments. They can also get trade-in offers, view protection plans, and purchase cars online.

To give shoppers peace of mind, Hertz says their certified vehicles undergo a 115-point inspection and are backed by a 12-month/12,000-mile limited powertrain warranty, which is an addition to any remaining factory warranty coverage. Customers can also expect detailed vehicle history and condition reports as well as 24-hour roadside assistance and a 7-day/250-mile buy-back guarantee.

Hertz currently lists 87,916 vehicles for sale and a handful of them are priced below $10,000. At the opposite end of the spectrum, you can score a 2024 Mercedes G 550 for around $142,000. The company is also offering a Polestar 1 for $75,000.

Hertz CEO Gil West said, “Our new e-commerce platform marks a major step forward in modernizing how we serve our customers with a seamless journey from browsing to ownership.” He added the move provides “greater visibility into our inventory, easier purchasing processes, and broader access to quality Hertz vehicles.”

To help promote the launch of online car buying, Hertz has enlisted Tom Brady for a new ad campaign. It will begin airing next month, although the star quarterback plays second fiddle to ‘tube men.’
