The former primary school teacher underwent life-saving surgery in the wake of the carnage last month at the Hart Space and was discharged a week after the tragedy.

Her pal has now revealed that Leanne is back in hospital needing another operation after developing an infection.

She posted on Facebook: “We were right to say take each day as it comes.

There will be ups and downs.

“Unfortunately this week Leanne was readmitted to hospital due struggling with her breathing.

“She is waiting for an operation for another drain on her lung due to infection.

“Leanne had barely begun her road to recovery out of hospital and is extremely frustrated and disheartened at being back in.

“Please keep her in your thoughts and continue supporting her as you have been by sharing the page & donating anything you can.”

Leanne was flooded with messages from well-wishers and a fundraiser in her name has now raised nearly £22,000.

One woman posted: “Sending much love to you and your family.”

Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Stancombe, seven, died in the attack on July 29.
