Harry Kane has once again shattered a longstanding Bundesliga record, securing his 31st goal of the season for Bayern Munich.

The England captain, who recently became the first player to score four hat-tricks in their debut Bundesliga season, aided Bayern’s dominant 8-1 victory over Mainz at the Allianz Arena.

Continuing his remarkable form, Kane found the net again against SV Darmstadt, clinching Bayern’s second goal of the match and surpassing Uwe Seeler’s 60-year-old record for the most goals scored in a debut Bundesliga campaign.

While Kane eyes Robert Lewandowski’s Bundesliga season goal-scoring record of 41, his immediate focus remains on propelling Bayern back into the title race amid the threat of their first trophyless season in 12 years.

With Bayer Leverkusen leading the Bundesliga table undefeated, Bayern trails by seven points after a convincing 5-2 win over Darmstadt, with goals from Jamal Musiala (2), Serge Gnabry, Mathys Tel, and Kane.

Although domestic cup glory eluded Bayern following a shock exit to third-tier FC Saarbrucken, their hopes lie in the Champions League. To reach the final at Wembley Stadium, they must overcome Arsenal in the quarter-finals, then face the winner of Manchester City versus Real Madrid in the semis.

If Bayern falls short this season, little blame will fall on Kane, who has excelled in his debut year in Germany, seamlessly replacing Lewandowski. The 30-year-old is poised to claim the Golden Boot ahead of Serhou Guirassy and Lois Openda, marking his fourth such accolade after three triumphs with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
