Harley-Davidson has launched the CVO Street Glide in India at Rs 63.03 lakh, with a bigger 1,982cc V-twin, premium finish and serious touring kit.

Harley-Davidson has introduced the CVO Street Glide in India at Rs 63.03 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the second-most expensive Harley on sale in the country after the CVO Road Glide. As part of the brand’s elite Custom Vehicle Operations line-up, the CVO Street Glide takes the familiar bagger silhouette and turns the luxury and presence up several notches for long-distance touring fans with deep pockets.

Powering the CVO Street Glide is Harley’s larger Milwaukee-Eight 121 V-twin engine. Displacing 1,982cc, this motor replaces the standard Street Glide’s 117ci, 1,917cc unit and delivers a healthy 115hp at 4,500rpm and 189Nm of peak torque at just 3,000rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and uses a slip-and-assist clutch to smoothen shifts and reduce effort at the lever, especially in stop-go traffic or on long highway days.

Buyers can choose from three paint options and two themes – a chrome-heavy look or a more sinister blacked-out finish. The chrome version is available in a single colour, while the blacked-out treatment can be had with two different paint schemes. Being a full-fat touring Harley, the CVO Street Glide comes loaded with equipment. Dominating the cockpit is a massive 12.3-inch TFT display that integrates bike info, navigation and entertainment.

A factory-fitted audio system is neatly housed within the iconic batwing fairing and saddlebags, underlining its long-distance cruiser character. On the electronics front, the bike gets a comprehensive safety suite including ABS, traction control, hill-hold control and cruise control, all working in tandem with an IMU to offer lean-sensitive intervention.

Despite its tech and luxury focus, the CVO Street Glide remains a hefty machine. With its 22.7-litre fuel tank filled, it tips the scales at 380kg. However, Harley has tried to keep it approachable with a low 680mm seat height and a reasonable 140mm of ground clearance, which should help riders manage the bike in typical Indian conditions, from uneven roads to slow-speed manoeuvres.
