Dubai air taxi station near airport signals a major leap in smart mobility, supporting future transport innovation and faster city connectivity.

DUBAI: Dubai air taxi station near airport has been officially completed, marking a significant step in the emirate’s push towards advanced urban mobility. The new facility, located near Dubai International Airport, is the first of its kind globally and is set to transform how people move across the city.

The Dubai air taxi station near airport spans 3,100 square metres and features two dedicated take-off and landing pads for electric vertical aircraft. It also includes charging infrastructure, climate-controlled passenger areas, and a two-storey car park. Designed to handle up to 170,000 passengers annually, the station reflects Dubai’s commitment to innovation and efficiency.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said the project embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to position Dubai as a global hub for future-ready solutions. He emphasised the importance of building an integrated, multi-level transport ecosystem powered by advanced technologies.

Officials confirmed that the Dubai air taxi station near airport will play a key role in enhancing connectivity between major destinations. Travel time from Dubai International Airport to Palm Jumeirah is expected to take just 10 minutes, compared to approximately 45 minutes by car.

The project is being developed in collaboration with global partners, including Skyports Infrastructure and Joby Aviation, with oversight from Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority. Authorities are progressing towards the commercial launch of air taxi services by the end of the year.

Mattar Al Tayer said the milestone reflects leadership’s vision to enhance quality of life and position Dubai among the world’s most advanced cities. The initiative also supports sustainable transport goals through zero-emission electric aircraft.

As Dubai continues to expand its smart mobility network, the station represents a major خطوة towards redefining urban transport for residents and visitors alike.
