Gov. Mbah inspects type 2 primary health centre at Ogbaku

COSMAS CHUKWU, Enugu

Enugu State Governor Dr Peter Mbah, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring quality healthcare for the people of the State by providing all the financial support for the Primary Healthcare Centres.

The governor who made this known on Sunday when he paid a supportive supervisory visit to the newly completed and equipped type-2 primary healthcare facility at Ogbaku in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, used the opportunity to interact with the health workers and the community Stakeholders.

Our Government House Correspondent, Fred Nnaji, reports that while expressing satisfaction with the quality of the job done by the contractor, Dr Mbah urged the people to protect every government facility in their domain in order to serve them optimally.

He noted that his administration last year 2025, approved the recruitment of 2,250 healthcare personnel for the entire 260 type 2 primary healthcare centres in the State in order to ensure they are fully staffed, saying the State government has zero tolerance for mother/child mortality.

Also, the State commissioner for health, Prof. George Ugwu and the Executive Secretary, Enugu State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Ifeyinwa Ani-Osheku while enumerating the governor’s giant strides in the health sector, commended him for the provision of nutritional support and basic healthcare provision funds for the general well-being of the children.

The overjoyed people of Ogbaku used the opportunity to assure the governor of their continued support and solidarity, especially in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
