Femi Gbajabiamila, chief of staff to President Bola Tinubu, has revealed that he nearly lost his job during last year’s Lagos assembly speakership crisis due to the involvement of Desmond Elliot, lawmaker representing Surulere constituency.

Speaking at an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Lagos, Gbajabiamila said Tinubu summoned him and named Elliot as one of those behind the crisis. He defended Elliot initially but later asked him to publicly distance himself from the impeachment move, which Elliot declined.
