Mundari herders in the midst of their cattle camp. They have a symbiotic bond with their Ankole Watusi cattle and truly care for their wellbeing. They massage the cattle in the mornings and evenings with ash from their fires, hence the camps always have a smokey haze which creates a unique ambience. They also cover themselves with ash to mitigate against tsetse flies and mosquitoes. At times they appear as ghosts fading into the haze and creating a scene which is traditional and timeless. Their life is cyclical using resources at hand and epitomises a very sustainable existence.
