Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu has released harrowing evidence regarding the extrajudicial killing of 28-year-old Mene Ogidi, an aspiring artist reportedly shot dead by a police officer in Uvwie, Delta State, on Sunday, April 26.Footage shared by Gwamnishu on Tuesday, April 28, captures Ogidis final moments, showing the young man pleading for his life after his apprehension. In the video, Ogidi maintains his innocence, claiming he was deceived by a friend from Sapele and had no knowledge of any criminal activity.According to Gwamnishus account, the tragedy unfolded after a friend asked Ogidi to retrieve a package from a motor park. Armed with a waybill number, Ogidi collected the item, unaware it contained a firearm. He was subsequently intercepted by police officers who discovered the weapon during a search.While Ogidi was reportedly explaining the situation, an officeridentified as ASP Nuhu Usmanallegedly opened fire, leaving him in a pool of blood. Ogidis family had initially declared him missing before the footage surfaced online, sparking widespread outrage.The Delta State Police Command has confirmed the incident, stating that ASP Usman has been arrested and remains in custody.
