Former Miss Universe Jamaica Tyra Spaulding Found Dead in Her Home

Tragedy has struck the Jamaican pageant community as former Miss Universe Jamaica, Tyra Spaulding, was found dead at her home on the evening of Tuesday, September 23rd.

According to reports, Spaulding’s lifeless body was discovered around 6:55 p.m., with her bed frame and a pink curtain tied around her neck.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Network (CCN) confirmed the incident, stating that the police are now treating the case as a suspected suicide.

The Miss Universe Jamaica Organization also confirmed her passing in an official statement writing: ““Tyra was more than a contestant; she was a vibrant, intelligent and inspiring young woman whose grace and spirit touched everyone she met.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with them as we remember and honour her remarkable life and legacy. May she rest in eternal peace,”

Before her death, it was noted that Tyra was also an advocate for mental health and suicide prevention.
