The Lagos State Police Command held a press conference on Monday, September 18, where they paraded three male suspects in connection with the robbery and murder of Adeniyi Sanni, an aide to Senator Solomon Adeola, also known as Yayi.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, confirmed the arrests during the briefing at the command’s headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos.

Sanni was tragically killed on August 5 when he was stopped by individuals posing as security agents at a checkpoint in Ojodu Berger while he was on his way to his home in Isheri, Lagos.

Commissioner Owohunwa stated, “Through painstaking intelligence and investigative activities that showcased the capabilities of the Lagos Police Command, we have successfully arrested the members of the robbery and murder syndicate. The three suspects directly involved in the robbery and murder have been apprehended, and three firearms, including the murder weapon, have been recovered.”

The police recovered one brand new pistol with three live rounds of ammunition, one Beretta pistol with three live rounds of ammunition, one locally made pistol with six live cartridges, six expended cartridges, military gear consisting of a military camouflage vest, jungle hat, pistol hose, and a red Honda CRV from the suspects.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Fred Azeez Okuno, a 43-year-old Lagos resident; Lucky Idudu Michael, a 33-year-old from Delta State; and Adedigba Segun, a 26-year-old from Ibadan, Oyo State.
