There is an ongoing fire outbreak at the popular Dosunmu market on Lagos Island, Lagos State.

This was confirmed by Ibrahim Farinloye, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Zonal Coordinator, South-West on Tuesday afternoon in an update sent to SaharaReporters.

In a series of photographs and videos obtained by SaharaReporters, the fire was seen burning heavily on some high-rise buildings in the market.

Farinloye added that operatives of the Fire Service and other relevant institutions had been mobilised to extinguish the inferno.

The extent of the damage is not yet ascertained at the time of filing this report.

This incident is coming barely three weeks after SaharaReporters reported how four buildings were destroyed by an inferno at the same market.

SaharaReporters also reported on Monday that a three-storey building located at Breadfruit Street, Balogun Market in Lagos State was gutted by fire.

A press statement made available to SaharaReporters by Margaret Adeseye, Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service disclosed that the fire started from the second floor of the building.>>>READ FULL ARTICLE>>>
